Khurram Dara
Khurram Dara is an American Muslim attorney from New York. He is the author of The Crescent Directive: An essay on improving the image of Islam in America (Tensile 2011) and Contracting Fear: Islamic Law in the Middle East and Middle America (Cascade Books 2014). He has written for a number of publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post online, CNN.com, the Huffington Post and The Buffalo News. He has also spoken to student groups at colleges across the country, including UNC-Chapel Hill, the University of Minnesota, Columbia University and SUNY Buffalo. He is the co-founder of the Hands4Refugees campaign, a new initiative sponsored by Hands4Kids, a non-profit that aims to provide prosthetic hands and limbs to children in need using breakthrough 3-D printing technology. He has been interviewed on Public Radio International, NPR, and conservative talk radio, and has also appeared on Fox News and Fox Business. A Western New York native, Khurram is a proud graduate of Williamsville North High School. He went on to graduate magna cum laude from Emory University and earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School.
