“Justice has been served”

[dropcap]O[/dropcap]sama Bin Laden, the mass murderer and the master mind of September 11, 2001 heinous crimes was
killed by the US Special Forces in Kakul, Abbottabad, Pakistan in the early hours of May 1st, 2011. The
news was announced by President Obama from White House to a rejoicing Nation. We hope this will
bring some closure to the families of those who lost their loved ones on that fateful day.

President Obama had made capturing or killing Bin Laden a top priority of his administration from the
first day he took oath of office. We thank him for staying on course in bringing this evil man to justice.
And we salute the men and women of the armed services and the intelligence services who have
resolutely pursued Bin Laden and other terrorists at great personal sacrifices.

This is great news not only for Americans but for the citizens of the entire world since Bin Laden was a
mass murderer of people of all faiths, especially Muslims across the Muslim world. President Obama
rightly said “Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader; he was a mass murderer of Muslims. Indeed, Al Qaeda
has slaughtered scores of Muslims in many countries, including our own. So his demise should be
welcomed by all who believe in peace and human dignity.” We also agree with President Obama when he
stated, like President George W. Bush before him, that the “..US is not and never will be, at war with
Islam…” and that, “it is important to note that our counterterrorism cooperation with Pakistan led to his
capture.”

“While we congratulate ourselves in eliminating this menace, let’s not lower our guard during this critical
time” stated Dr. Khalid J. Qazi, President of MPAC-WNY. He further went on to say that “ We have yet
to capture or kill Ayman Alzawahari, Bin Laden’s second in command, who is still out there planning to
attack our homeland” He reinforced the need for all Americans, including Muslim Americans, to be
vigilant and watchful.

We urge all our fellow citizens to reignite the spirit of unity that was the hall mark of our country after
September 11, 2001.
